Dear children, dear moms and dads, dear families, dear friends of our practice,

For over 33 years, I have had the privilege of providing medical care for you and your children – from the first day of life, through childhood and school years, into young adulthood. I am deeply grateful to you for this long-standing trust. Many of these encounters went far beyond the purely medical; some relationships have grown over the years and have become very dear to me.

I am now 66 years old, and even though my work continues to bring me great joy, the right time has come for me to pass on the responsibility for my practice. I am all the more pleased to inform you today that I have found a successor who will continue to run the practice with great professional competence, dedication, and humanity.

After intensive discussions and careful consideration, I have consciously chosen Dr. Susanne Hörning. She brings not only extensive medical experience but also additional qualifications that will meaningfully expand our practice’s range of services and further improve the care of your children. However, it was particularly important to me that she shares my attitude toward pediatric and adolescent medicine: listening attentively, providing careful guidance, and perceiving every child and every family as a whole. As a mother, she also knows the concerns, questions, and emotions that move parents in everyday life.

The continued existence of the Kinderarztpraxis Bartholomäus and the reliable medical care of your children are thus secured. In the coming years, I will continue to work in the practice as an employed physician together with Dr. Hörning and our proven team. This ensures that the accustomed continuity remains for you and your children – and for me, the great joy of being able to continue accompanying my patients while I take a step back and contribute my experience in a supportive role.

This solution fills me with gratitude and confidence. It gives me the certainty that you and your children will remain in good hands in the future and allows me to begin this new chapter of my life with peace and trust.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the years of trust, for the openness, the many conversations, the shared laughter, and also for the togetherness in difficult moments. I look forward to seeing you in our practice and continuing this path now with Dr. Susanne Hörning.
